VITAL RECORDS FROM THE COHOES CATARACT, 1851
Transcribed by JanaLee Petersen Apr 2002
Webpage by Cliff Lamere Apr 2002
Each issue of this newspaper was examined for births, marriages and
deaths. If a death was mentioned in a news item, then usually it was not
also listed in the death notices. Because of this, if I happened to notice the news item, I made note of the particulars
given. Below, that kind of death record begins with "News" instead of
"Died".
Places mentioned below are in the counties of Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Tioga, and Washington. Also mentioned were Massachusetts, Canada, and England.
The abbreviations inst. and ult., in the context in which they are used below, can be thought of as meaning 'of this month' and 'of last month', respectively.
